Harley’s Pizza & Wings
Harley’s Pizza & Wings: 2100 E Oakland Park Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306
There used to be a great pizza place called Fort Lauderdale Pizza in this location. Unfortunately the owner’s closed that business. Now a new set of owners have taken over this location and opened up Harley’s Pizza & Wings. This place is located on E Oakland Park Blvd in a small strip mall just west of Federal Highway. If you can’t find parking out front, there is a few more spaces in the back of the restaurant where you can park as well.
Harley’s Pizza & Wings has several booths along the outside walls, a few tables in the middle, and TVs on the walls showing sports. There is a nice front counter where the pizza oven is located and a full kitchen in the back.
We chose to sit in one of the booths by the pizza oven as we love watching people, especially when we can see them cooking food. We decided to check this place out to find a wing place closer to home than Wilton Wings.
The menu has a mix of pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers, and milkshakes.
Jerry started with a chocolate milkshake. He forgot to ask for it without whipped cream, but devoured it in minutes. I chose to go with the Oreo cookie milkshake. I loved the crushed up Oreos, fresh whipped cream, and thick milkshake. It took me a little longer to drink mine down because it was so thick.
Next up we tried the mozzarella sticks. Harley’s Pizza gives you six sticks with a cup of marinara sauce. The breading was nice and crispy, but lacked flavor. I’ve enjoyed better mozzarella sticks at Rumors Bar & Grill. If they would change the the breading a bit to add more flavor, then they would be a great start to your meal.
For Jerry’s main dish, he went with the mild wings. You can choose to have 5 wings, 10 wings, 20 wings, etc.. Jerry went with 5 wings. He thought the wings were very good, but did mention, as you can see in the picture, that they use a bit too much sauce which then pools in the basket. I decided to try Harley’s Pizza’s garlic parmesan wings. I chose to go with 10 since we had the appetizer and milkshake to fill me up. The wings were perfectly cooked with a bit of a crips skin like I like. They used the right amount of rub on it, but because they deep fry them, they were sitting in a bunch of oil in the basket. But the wings themselves tasted great and I really enjoyed eating them. Only the wings at the bottom had the oil, so my recommendation is take them out of the basket.
I will probably eat their wings again if I don’t feel like a little drive, and look forward to trying their pizza next.
