Rumors Bar & Grill
Rumors Bar & Grill: 2426 Wilton Dr, Wilton Manors, FL 33305
We are always looking for a good place to have Sunday Brunch. So Jerry suggested we check our Rumors Bar & Grill, especially since he is there about 2-3 times a week. That and the fact that we had some gift cards, so we figured what the heck, let’s try it out.
The Bar and Restaurant:
Rumors has a bunch of tables outside under an awning that you can sit at and enjoy the sights going up and down Wilton Drive. Inside you have the three bar areas (Video Bar, Sports Bar, and Lounge). The inside area is non-smoking, but unfortunately they do allow smoking on the patio area. There is plenty of seating both inside and out and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
I will say this though, when you look at the menu, you can only order the food the way it is. I would have given this place a higher rating if it was not for the fact that their chef has made the decision to not allow customers to make modifications to what is on the menu. For example you can’t ask for a fried egg since they can’t do one. They also couldn’t do scrambled eggs for someone else that was eating at the bar. Guess when you go on Hell’s Kitchen and two of Food Network’s shows, you have an issue with customers asking for what they want. There is also a veggie omelette on the menu, but don’t ask for any other kind of omelette as you won’t be able to get it.
Rumors has $6 bugers on Monday nights, which seems to be pretty popular as well. You can order lunch or dinner, and the menu is pretty robust.
We both started our brunch at Rumors with a nice mimosa with a good amount of champagne in them. Our bartender Shannon was amazing and very attentive to making sure we had a good meal and time. Jerry decided on having the pancakes, which they change periodically. On this day it was a triple stack with fresh fruits (strawberries, and blueberries). He really enjoy them and had so much food he needed to bring half of it home for a second meal. The only bad side is that they do not have sugar free syrup, but the maple syrup they do serve adds some good flavor to the pancakes.
Originally I wanted to get the Broken Yolk Sandwich, but since I couldn’t get that made with a fried egg, I had to opt for the breakfast wrap from their regular menu. The wrap is served with bacon, egg, and cheese with a side of seasoned french fries. I was pleasantly surprised with the great taste and really enjoyed my breakfast. I would recommend it to anyone.
The menus have a good mix of burgers, sandwiches, sliders, salads, tacos and nom noms. You should at least try it once and see what you think about this place.
Pricing: $-$$ for lunch, dinner and brunch depending on what you order and drinks
