About Us

Here at South Florida Eats, we are just two local guys who love to eat at local restaurants.  We eat out so much and make so many recommendations to our friends that everyone always comes to us asking for ideas of where they should try next.  So in January of 2016, we decided why not put up a blog about our eating adventures to help everyone choose the best places to eat in the South Florida area.   We will even rate the occasional restaurant on our travels around the country.  A little bit about us:

  • Karl is a banker by day and a foodie by night.  He has also owned several successful businesses throughout the years and loves to travel.  He is a fussy eater but knows what he likes.
  • In loving memory of Jerry, who passed away in 2019. Jerry was a travel agent who was also an excellent cook.  He is also daring to try new things and be adventurous with his food.
  • Mike is the newest member of the South Florida Eats team, assisting Karl in his culinary experiences.

We’ll continue to add new venues as often as we can to help you make the right choices for food.  Sometimes, our reviews may not be favorable, but that is because we have to be honest about the food we eat and how we feel about it.  We would not want you to go somewhere thinking it was good because of a paid review.  We do not accept any money for our reviews.

The South Florida Eats (SFLeats.com) team loves to try out new and exciting places. And we travel all over Florida trying them out. Don’t see a favorite restaurant of yours or in your area, then use the link at the top of the page or click here to suggest it to us. Occasionally, we will also post a review of some of the restaurants we visited along our travels outside of Florida.

The SFLeats team also reviews cookbooks, kitchen appliances, gadgets, and tools, in addition to posting our favorite recipes. We love seeing comments from our readers, so feel free to add your thoughts to any of our postings.

We also utilize banner advertising and affiliate links throughout the site to help support us and allow South Florida Eats to provide unbiased reviews on the restaurants we explore.
