Eddie V’s Prime Seafood
Eddie V’s Prime Seafood: 50 South Ave, Burlington, MA 01803
Mike asked me where I wanted to go for my birthday, and Eddie V’s came up when I looked at steakhouses. I’d been to Eddie V’s in Florida but had no idea it was a chain restaurant similar to Ruth Chris. So Mike made the reservation, and we continued our business until the evening came for us to go out on the town to celebrate.
The Restaurant:
Eddie V’s Prime Seafood took over a location that was previously a Macaroni Grill in Burlington, Massachusetts. They offer valet parking, and while shorts are acceptable during the summer, I recommend, depending on the location, that you stay a bit more upscale and wear long pants for the gentlemen.
Once inside, there is a decent-sized bar area to the right, along with a few tables of varying sizes. To the left is the main dining area, which you take a few steps down into. A mix of half booths and tables of varying sizes fill the room. I love the fact that you can see into the kitchen area. I enjoy watching the kitchen staff run around preparing the many meals and seeing how they expedite from the various stations.
Eddie V’s Menu:
We lucked out on our visit to Eddie V’s Prime Seafood as it was the final night of restaurant week. In addition to the many great entrees and appetizers on the standard menu, they had a special menu due to the two-week event, which Mike and I decided to order from.
Mike started with the Ceasar Salad, while I opted for the Maine lobster bisque. He commented that they must have liked me, as there was a good amount of lobster in my bisque. It was like they knew we were celebrating a special occasion. After all, they did give me a card thanking us for celebrating my birthday with them. The broth was flavorful, and the lobster was cooked perfectly.
For the main entrees, we chose the same dish: filet medallions with Gulf shrimp scampi style accompanied by grilled shrimp. Each of our filet medallions was cooked perfectly the way we ordered them. The steak was tender and flavorful, which brought a smile to our faces.
The shrimp were just as tasty and continued the flowing flavors that made our stomachs happy. We also enjoyed the asparagus and were very happy with the perfectly grilled spears. We could not have been happier with our main courses.
To finish off the evening, I went with butter pecan ice cream, which they served with a birthday message and candle. Mike went with the Bananas Foster butter cake. As you can see from the video, we were impressed that they still did table-side lighting and pouring of it, something many restaurants no longer do.
