Bayview Diner
Bayview Diner:
You can almost miss the Bayview Diner if you are not paying attention. It’s located in the Southside shopping center along East Oakland Park Blvd., before you go over the bridge to A1A. It’s located next to another favorite of mine, Bayview Pizza (no owner relation). Plenty of parking is available. Just remember that the spots along the front of the businesses are metered, while the spots facing the street are not. One key thing to note is that they accept CASH ONLY here. There is an ATM on premise, but I recommend making sure you bring enough cash to pay for your meal so you avoid the extra fee.
The Restaurant:
Bayview Diner is only open for breakfast and lunch. They added a second section to their restaurant in 2018 which gives them many more seats. Business has continued to grow over the past few years and the place is always packed on Sunday now. Most of the rest of the days it is busy, but you can usually still find a seat.
When you walk in the front door, you will notice a counter to your right, a few tables with chairs in the main room, and booths and tables in the new section. You seat yourself most of the time, and the staff is always friendly and polite. Lisa is our favorite waitress.
The Food:
Bayview Diner offers the standard diner type offerings. They have a pretty large breakfast selection and their lunch menu has a good number of items as well. We’ve been there so many times I think we might have tried at least half of the items.
For Breakfast Jerry has had their waffle with and without ice cream. The waffles is always perfectly cooked, and has a great crisp edge to it. He also likes the pancakes, especially when they add in the bananas to it. The pancakes are fluffy and they are always way more than you can eat. One of my favorites is the Bayview Omelette. I like their omelettes because they cook them well done. The Bayview has gyro meat, tomatoes, feta cheese, and 3 eggs. It’s the perfect greek style breakfast and I always get mine with a side a french fries because they use the crinkle cut fries.
Another Omelette that I have many times at the Bayview Diner is the sausage and cheese omelette. There is plenty of sausage inside and nice gooey cheese. Jerry and I also both like the corned beef hash, but we prefer it well done. They always cook it the way we want, and you get to choose your style of eggs to go with it. Jerry likes to get poached eggs, and I prefer scrambled with cheese.
Lunch is just as good as the breakfast. We’ve had the Philly Chicken, served with provolone and onions, and a side of fries. Another lunch favorite of ours at Bayview is the Cheeseburger Club. Perfectly cooked juicy burger patty, topped with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato on your choice of bread. You also get a side with this and I always love those fries!

You really can not go wrong with anything on the menu. This is a great family owned business and Francois is a great cook.
Why do French fries seem so wrong next to an omelette yet home-fries seem oh so right? #oneoflifesmysteries
Crinkle cut fries go with everything! 🙂
