Bravo! Gourmet Sandwich
Bravo! Gourmet Sandwich: 2925 NE 6th Ave, Wilton Manors, FL 33334
Bravo is a Peruvian restaurant located in a very small strip mall. Originally we thought this place was closed and drove by it a few times to be sure. There is a very big sign that you can’t miss the shopping center with the restaurants name on it. The windows have a dark tint to them which makes it hard to see anyone inside. This place started as a very small sandwich and take out location. But it did not take long for the locals and non-locals alike to find this gem that was hidden away. They have now expanded and remodeled at least twice that I know of. There are probably about seating for 60 or so people and there is a small bar/counter that seats about 5. Our group had six people in it. If you plan to go on Friday and Saturday nights, you should expect to wait a little during the peak times. This place can get packed now that the word is out on it. The nice thing is that the service is very fast and friendly. Our waiter Marcus made us laugh and provided some of the best service we have every seen.
Let’s start with the Lomo Saltado: this dish is full of flavor with the soy sauce and ginger that they use to create the sauce. The flank steak is grilled to perfection and well marinated to provide a burst of flavor in your mouth. Mixed in are a hefty serving of onions, peppers, tomatoes, scallions, french fries and a side of white rice. You can also get this dish done as a Risotto which adds a whole new dimension to it. Maybe beef isn’t your style, so you can always have the Pollo Saltado. This is very much the same dish except the sauce is made a little differently and you have marinated chicken in pace of the steak.
One of our favorite dishes is with Octopus. It features two grilled octopus tentacles on a bed of risotto. There are cooked onions added as a garnish and a little bit of cheese. The flavor is very good. You can also get their other seafood dish that has octopus if you prefer. Ceviche is always well done here. They use a nice white fish that is cooked using citrus juices. You can’t go wrong with any of the freshly prepared food at this local hangout! They serve Lunch and Dinner. For lunch they have some amazing sandwiches that you will just have to try.
Update 5/9/2016:
We decided to go back to this place as we heard there was a new addition to the restaurant. As of this week they have added a brand new section and expanded with an additional seating section. This new sections is very well appointed and includes a massive wine display. We are very happy to see this great spot continue to grow and expand. Oh and by the way they have several new menu items and specials and are in the process of creating new menus.
Pricing: $$ – lunch, $$$ – dinner;
I am STILL drooling when I think back to how yummy my dish was here!!!
It was great to share this place with you! We’ll all go again.
