Courtyard Cafe
Courtyard Cafe: 2211 Wilton Dr, Wilton Manors, FL 33305
The Courtyard Cafe has been a staple in the Wilton Manors community for some time now. Their website says that they have been serving the community for over 50 yrs. I’m not an expert on that since I have not lived here that long, but it has been here for the past 11 yrs that I have lived in Florida. It a decent sized restaurant located in a strip mall along Wilton Drive. Once you walk inside you will see various tables and chairs, along with a small counter with stools.
One of the cool things about the Courtyard Cafe is their outdoor courtyard. It’s a nice place especially if you have a dog to eat outside and enjoy the wonderful Florida weather. They have about 15 tables outside and you have easy access to the parking lot there as well.
The Food:
The Courtyard Cafe’s food is traditional american fare. Let’s be honest, there is nothing special about it or anything you would write home about; however it is usually good and dependable. Plus on the weekends where else are you going to go after a night of drinking?
Two of our friends came down from Port St. Lucie and the four of us decided to head here for dinner. I had ordered a chicken Philly cheese-steak, but they brought me a regular Philly Cheese-steak with a side of french fries. I always ask to have mayo on mine and sometimes I even ask for lettuce. This one was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing to me. The fries are crinkle cut which are my favorite and are always cooked perfectly. You can ask for them well done if you want.
Jerry and Joy both ordered the Tilapia, although one of them got it with healthy broccoli and the other with sweet potato fries. It’s garnished with fresh lemons and was nice and flaky. Both of them said that their fish had very good flavor and was cooked to their liking. Ray had the turkey club which was filled with a ton of turkey meat. It’s on three nice slices of bread, a helping of mayo, lettuce, tomato, and crispy bacon. He said that it was almost too much food with how thick the sandwich was. A side of coleslaw accompanies the sandwich, but you may not ever get to it.
I almost forgot to mention that we also started our meal with a basked of fired pickles. I can never have enough of these and the ones here are amazing. You have alot of different options to choose from and they are all usually very good items. Service can use some help at times, but a few of the waiters are good. Most of them try to be funny, but it falls far short.
