Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen
Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen: 452 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301
So I went into my visit at Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen thinking that this was a fresh new concept in Fort Lauderdale, however I found out this is actually part of a small chain of restaurants based in Chicago. It’s located along the east side of Federal Highway next to the Fresh Market just north of Broward Boulevard. Right now parking is very tough and you have to use the valet. There is a new garage being built for the building behind the restaurant which will allow people more parking and hopefully some self parking. But for now you must valet if you plan to go here. But don’t let that deter you.
I met a friend here for lunch. The service was fast and friendly. My friend had been there before, and many of the staff seemed to know him. They all came by to say hello which was very nice to see. There is a nice size bar area near the entrance to the restaurant. This is also where the outdoor seating area is as well. For Lunch time it was not overly busy, but still had a very good crowd. So far it seems that this place does attract a younger and business crowd for lunch. We decided to sit indoors since it was a hot day, but they do have a lot of large umbrellas outside on the patio to keep the sun off of you.
The Food:
I decided to have the Turkey Burger which comes with Monterey Jack, Artisan Roll, Avocado, red onion & tortilla strips with avocado vinaigrette. We can’t forget to mention the slice of red pepper on it. This dish comes with a side as well (Your choice of French Fries, Hand-Cut Sweet Potato Fries, Coleslaw, or Kale Slaw), I chose the french fries. For $14, it’s a great deal and the french fries were very good. The Turkey Burger had a lot of flavor and I loved how the avocado vinaigrette just brought the sandwich together and gave it a ton of flavor. My friend had the Crispy Chicken sandwich with Sesame Seed Bun, Coleslaw, white onion & pickle all for only $15. It was nice and crispy, with a good flavor. The coleslaw comes on the sandwich which is reminiscent of another famous restaurant. It had a good flavor to it and was not overly creamy.
We both were very satisfied with the food and will be back again. Next I go to Doc B’s, I want to try out the dinner entrees, so look for an update.
