Ethos Greek Bistro
Ethos Greek Bistro: 2055 Wilton Dr, Wilton Manors, FL 33305
This Greek Restaurant in Wilton Manors is a new addition to the drive. It has been open for a few months now and is actually the second location for them. The first one is located in Coral Springs, FL. Ethos Greek Bistro is a very nicely appointed restaurant with outside, inside, and bar seating. Be careful if you sit at the bar as the air blowers can either be hot or cold depending on the season and annoy you all through dinner. They usually have them turned up pretty high as well. Also if you don’t like loud music, this might not be the place for you. They play a variety of contemporary and dance style music while you eat. I personally loves this, but Jerry was not a fan. The crowd is very mixed with gay, straight, older, and younger. Everyone likes to try out new restaurants when they come to town. We decided to sit at the bar and had good service from out bartender. He was by himself behind the bar, but was able to keep up with everyone that was sitting around. There were several waiters and 2 hostesses. Plenty of staff to handle any rush that came their way.
We started off with one of our favorite soups to see how this place would make it. Greek Lemon Chicken Soup. This is made fresh in the restaurant each day and I can tell you that it was bursting with flavor. We loved that is was a little thicker than how most make it and a little more of a cream base. I would have taken a whole stock pot home of it if they would have let me. Next up we have the calamari. They were cooked perfectly to a nice golden brown since they had breading on them. They were accompanied by a lemon wedge and a nice helping of tomato sauce for dipping. Neither of us really use the sauce and just love them plain. It was a very nice portion size as well and could have easily fed 4 people. For the main dishes, Jerry decided to have something that most Greek Restaurants only offer as an appetizer. It was a Kefte platter which included a small Greek salad, roasted potatoes, pita bread, and yogurt sauce. The meat was perfectly seasoned with mint and fresh herbs and cooked just the way he likes it. It was bursting with flavor when it entered his mouth. The salad was your standard Greek Salad with a ton of Feta cheese on it. The freshly baked Pita bread was delicious. The Roasted potatoes were cook perfectly and soft to the touch.
Next up was my meal. I decided on the Artichoke Chicken. This was accompanied by Spinach rice which has lots of aromatic herbs mixed into it and was light and fluffy. I could have just eaten a plate of the rice. Then you had the kale salad which had a nice light dressing on it. The kale was crispy and tasted great. The chicken was grilled, but still very tender and fell apart with the fork. Three was a creamy artichoke sauce on top which once you removed the pieces of artichoke tasted great. For me there was way too much artichoke pieces in it. My mouth was very happy with the combination of flavors it was experiencing.
Pricing: $$-$$$$ for dinner; They are only open for dinner at the Wilton Manors locations. However the Coral Springs one is also open for lunch.
