Gateways Inn – Lenox
Gateways Inn: 51 Walker Street, Lenox, MA 01240
Gateways Inn is located in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. There were four of us on our way to Tanglewood for a concert with the Boston Pops. I was tasked with trying to find something on my phone for us to eat, and the Gateways Inn popped up. So, we decided to give it a shot. Besides the country feel of this inn, the restaurant is renowned for its quality cuisine.
The Restaurant:
Gateways Inn restaurant has a nice-sized bar area, two main dining rooms with a mix of different-sized wooden tables and chairs, and, during warmer weather, a nice outside patio dining area. Depending on the season, you may be privy to live music, especially their piano.
The restaurant at the Gateways Inn is known for its charming ambiance and excellent cuisine. It’s a farm-to-table restaurant that is well-regarded for special occasions and its romantic setting. The menu offers a variety of dishes catering to different preferences, including fresh creations by the chef and staff for both locals and visitors
Gateways Inn Food:
For our entrees, Chuck and I chose to try the Berkshire burger featuring Highlawn Farms cheddar, smoked bacon, caramelized onion, garlic aioli,
grilled Berkshire Mountain Bakery cheese + herb ciabatta, french fries. Each of our burgers was cooked exactly how we ordered. The beef mixture and spices combined perfectly to provide an amazing flavor.
The herbed ciabatta added additional flavor. Each burger was juicy and topped with a hefty helping of onions. The fries were delicious, tossed in a parmesan seasoning that had me coming back for more.
Mike and Janice each chose to go with one of the specials for the day, which was roasted chicken tacos. The platter came with three soft shell tacos filled to the brim. They featured a cheese crumble, pico de gallo, guacamole, and fresh limes. It was hard to tell if they liked them or not because the tacos disappeared as quickly as they arrived. So, I am guessing that the flavors mixed well and hit the spot. They both said that they would order this dish again.
