Greek Spice Grill
Greek Spice Grill: 2103 E Commercial Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308
Jerry and I were looking for something that was fast and good on our way home from a doctor’s appointment. We remembered passing by this little Greek restaurant on Commercial Blvd. So we decided, let’s try it out. We’re always up for something new and we both love Greek food. Parking can be an issue especially during the busy times. It is located in a very small strip mall with a Kwik Stop. One bad thing is that the owners/managers use up some of the parking in front of their own business, which I would never recommend any business owner do when you have limited space to begin with.
Once inside Greek Spice Grill you will see a few table to your right, and the majority of them to your left. It has about 20-23 tables with most of them sitting a max of 4 people to a table. For a large group you can combine a few of them together. You will notice 2 large TV screens with the menu above two registers for ordering. They have a wide selection of gyros, pitas, and platters. Each will come with different sides (maybe a small Greek salad, french fries, pita bread, small tzatziki, etc..) I decided on the Chicken Pita which comes with french fries. They use all white meat chicken that is marinated and grilled to perfection before being sliced. It is then wrapped in pita with tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and onions in a toasted pita shell. I loved the way you could taste the marinade on the chicken as it gave it a lot of flavor. The french fries were hand cut and a nice golden brown and crisp. They were tossed in very light seasoning (I believe it was olive oil, parsley, and dill) that just gave a hint of flavor to them. Jerry had the Gyro Platter, which comes with a Greek salad and french fries. The tzatziki sauce is very good and was a good consistency. We both liked this as it added more consistency to the sauce and stayed better on the pita bread slices. He loved the fresh salad which included the usual lettuce, feta cheese, tomatoes, olives, onion, cucumbers, and Greek dressing. The gyro meat was cooked perfectly and they gave you a very nice portion of it. Even though you don’t think it is a lot of food when you first get your meal, you will be filled up fast on it.
The service was good. They take your order and then will deliver it to your table. You can get a fountain soda (Pepsi products) or bottle for Coke products. We chose bottled and were given cups for ice which was nice. I will say that their prices are very good. I was pleasantly surprised to see how cheap their filet mignon pita and platter are. (only $14.95 for the latter). You can get a lot of food and make your dollar go a long way at the Greek Spice Grill.
Pricing: $ – $$ for lunch and dinner depending on what you order
