Hamburger Mary’s Orlando
Hamburger Mary’s:
The Restaurant:
I was traveling in Orlando, FL for work and trying to figure out where I should stop for lunch that was close to the office and hotel. It has been some time since I was at a Hamburger MAry’s so I figured why not pop on in and see what they had done with the place. Hamburger Mary’s is a franchise, not yet quite large enough to be considered a chain, but they may eventually reach that status. The restaurant is located on Church Street in a section of town that is very LGBT friendly.
Hamburger Mary’s decor is a little dated, but still fun. At lunch time during the week it is kind of slow, not many people in the place. But I know from experience that on the evenings and weekends there is a much more lively crowd. They even occasionally have a DJ or drag show. I also hear the brunch is popular as well.
Inside you will find several booths and tables and a fairly nice size bar. You can also choose to sit outside at one of the wrought iron tables and chairs.
The Food:
The menu at Hamburger Mary’s has a pretty big selection of items ranging from starters like the Mary-Mac & Cheese Balls to the Mary’s Ta-Ta’s as starters. They serve a selection of burgers, sandwiches, salads and a few entrees.
My entree of choice, the chicken tender wrap. Crispy fried chicken tenders are cut up and rolled with fresh lettuce, tomato, crispy bacon, cheddar/jack cheese and honey mustard dressing in a flour tortilla. It’s a pretty big wrap with alot of food packed into it. The french fries that I chose for my side item had a little bit of a seasoned taste, but I was not a fan of the oil they were cooked in. It makes them have a weird coating to them. But all in all the meal was very good and I would go back again.
Pricing: $$-$$$ all depending on how much food your order and drinks you might partake in. The South Florida Eats team was a party of one on this adventure, so we will go back with the whole gang.
