Laspada’s Original Hoagies

Laspada’s is a South Florida staple that has been around since 1972 when they opened up their first location. Now today, they have 5 locations throughout the area. You will find them in Coral Springs, Davie, Ft. Lauderdale (2 locations), and Boca Raton. You can order online at their website and pick it up or choose to have it delivered from DoorDash and Delivery Dudes.

The Menu:

There is a selection of traditional hoagies you would expect to find at any sub shop in the states. They include tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, sweet peppers, etc… on all of their cold hoagies. You can order Laspada’s hoagies in either an 8-inch or 12-inch size. From my experience, you really can not make a wrong selection, and all of the hoagies taste great. One hot sandwich is the Meatball, and it doesn’t come with any veggies on it.

You can also choose from a variety of deli sandwiches, salad platters, and deli salads. You also can’t forget about the cookies and brownies that they offer for dessert. And if you have a big group, why not take advantage of their catering options.

What I ordered:

I’ve ordered from Laspada’s a few different times. Because of that, I have tried a few different hoagies from them, like the Italian, Monster, and many others.

I ordered a Ham and Cheese hoagie with mayo, lettuce, onions, and pickles for this review. I usually prefer to order two choices so that I can have one the following day. That was the case with this hoagie, and it kept very well for the next day. Laspsada’s uses a nice helping of ham, putting some on the bottom of the sandwich and then a few more slices on top, give you plenty of meat. They used just the right amount of lettuce and mayo to give this hoagie a noticeably fresh taste. It also did not soak the roll they used by leaving it in the fridge for an extra day.

I also ordered the meatball with parmigiana cheese which is the only hot sandwich on the menu. The meatballs are freshly made Italian style and are a very nice size. The 8-inch hoagie that I ordered had five of them, and they barely fit in the roll. The cheese was the perfect amount to accent and added flavor to the sandwich. They use a little more sauce than I like, but for some reason, it just works on this hoagie. The roll is the same as all the others, but it does get a little soggy from the sauce, so I recommend eating it as soon as you get it home. This is one of my all-time favorite hoagies from Laspada’s.
