Mr. Beast Burger
Mr. Beast Burger – only available for delivery in apps like Uber and Doordash.
About:
I have been hearing a lot about this so-called virtual restaurant franchise called Mr. Beast Burger that was launched using ghost kitchens. Everyone on the internet was raving about it and you can find a bunch of YouTube videos telling you all about the new restaurant. It was started by a young youtube star named Mr. Beast and went viral because of his followers and crazy promotional videos.
One of the videos I watched was showing several people who had ordered a few different burgers and sandwiches to try. They raved about the flavors and I thought it would be interesting to try it out. I love new restaurants, and in a way, this is supporting some of the local eateries since the food is made onsite of existing restaurant kitchens/food trucks.
There is no place for you to go and pick it up. All orders need to be ordered using one of the delivery apps or the Mr. Beast Burger app/website. And of course, I wanted to check it out for this blog, and give you my thoughts.
The Food:
I fired up my DoorDash app, searched for Mr. Beast Burger. Once I located the restaurant in the app, I began to peruse the various selections of burgers. You can choose from Beast Style, Chandler Style, and Chris Style, all named after the owner and his friends. There is also Karl’s grilled cheese. You can also get two styles of chicken tender sandwiches.
The menu is very simple which helps ensure that all the different locations can make it the same way. Chandler Style is two smashed crispy beef patties with house seasoning, served plain with American cheese on a bun. Chris Style is two smashed crispy beef patties with house seasoning, sharp American cheese, bacon, topped with crinkle fries.
My excitement grew as I waited to taste this highly coveted meal that the internet seemed to be buzzing about.
My Meal:
I decided to go with the Beast Style combo, two smashed crispy beef patties with house seasoning, sharp American cheese, pickles, diced white onion, mayo, ketchup, and brown mustard on a soft roll. Unfortunately, there is not an option in the delivery apps to really customize it the way you want. Next time I will try and use the Mr. Beast Burger app for ordering to see if I have more options in there. My combo was accompanied by seasoned fries and a can of coke.
The bag that arrived was made to be checked off as they verified things for your order. However as you can see from the image, they were too lazy to actually use it. Everything was sealed letting me know that my driver had not tampered with anything, not that I worry about that.
Some might think that the presentation is not great, and you would not be wrong. The burger is a smashed type of burger and they never look pretty. My excitement was quickly diminished by the lack of flavor from their Beast Seasoning. I am not even sure there was any on there. The cheese tasted like regular American and did not seem to have the kick you would expect from a sharp American cheese.
It was cooked well done which is pretty much the only way you are able to get it. While it was not overly flavorful, it was still a good burger. However, I would recommend going to Shake Shack, BurgerFi, or Five Guys, where you can get a little more flavorful burger. Next time I will order from my all-time favorite which is Burger & Beers in Wilton Manors.
The french fries were crinkle cut which is one of my favorite styles. There was a very light dusting of an old bay style seasoning, but not enough to my liking. I enjoy flavor and lots of it. I would order them again, or maybe next time try their Beast Style Fries loaded with caramelized onions, American cheese, pickles, mayo, ketchup, and mustard.
Dessert:
The chocolate chip cookie was a highlight. Freshly made with a ton of chocolate chips, it was soft as well.
I would recommend checking it out if you are looking for a different place to order from, but like I said there are others that are much better.
Pricing $-$$: Adding additional toppings and items can increase the prices. Another good choice to try would be Jet Runway Cafe.
