We are definitely breakfast junkies. Heck we could probably eat it for every meal of the day. This is a small eatery located in a strip mall along Oakland Park Blvd. near Wilton Manors. The food is always good here. During the week their specials board included many great meal items like meatloaf, burgers, wraps, and even full dinners. On the weekends you will find usually 5 or 6 breakfast specials like chipped beef on toast, egg sandwiches, a Mexican omelette, etc.. They are open for breakfast and lunch every day. They are very involved in the local community and the owner is there almost every day. The rest of the staff is fun and quirky. You will never have a dull moment eating here.
One of the things we like about The Over Easy Cafe is that you can sit at the counter and watch them make your food right in front of you. There are also about 7 booths in the place that will seat at least 4 people, and 2 of them will fit 6 people. Need more space than that, then you might have to use more than one booth. We had an egg white omelette with spinach and feta cheese along with sliced tomatoes. Want to make the tomatoes taste even better, then ask for them to be grilled. They use very fresh vegetables and greens which brought out the flavor in this omelette. Next up was a turkey kielbasa omelette with American cheese and hash browns with onions. The hash browns are frozen, but that doesn’t take away from their goodness. The omelettes are made with extra large eggs. And last we had scrambled eggs with a side of kielbasa which was perfectly grilled. Want to add some toast, then try a grilled biscuit or English muffins on the grill. You can trust me you will not regret it. If you are looking for a great breakfast or lunch place, then this will certainly hit the spot! They also do catering and are known for their pies. You can special order a pie or two to feed your sweet tooth!
