Pinho’s is a little family owned bakery and deli located in the northern part of Ft. Lauderdale. One thing to know is that this place can be very busy at lunch time, so make sure you give yourself enough time to wait. However the very friendly staff are fast and they make some of the best sandwiches around. We forgot to take pictures on this adventure, but we go here so often that we will be sure to take them next time and update this review with them. If you are looking for some of the most authentic Portuguese pastries and baked goods then you will not be disappointed. The custard tarts and cookies are some of the best around. They have croquettes, empanadas, and freshly baked bread.
This place serves breakfast in the morning until 10:30am. They have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches for you to choose from. I love the egg and bacon sandwich myself. Most of the time though we usually go here for lunch. Karl orders the Chicken Philly & Cheese sandwich. If you order the whole one, it will definitely fill you up. I usually get it without mushrooms, and just the onions. I also add lettuce and mayo to it in order to make it my own. They use fresh chicken chopped perfectly and seasoned with just a little flavor to make it out of this world. I’ve also had the regular Steak & Cheese and it is just as good and reminds me of being back in Philadelphia. Jerry had the Cuban on this day which is filled with ham, pork, mayo, mustard, pickles and swiss then pressed in a panini press. The flavors come together well in your mouth as you are eating it. We could not have been happier that we stopped here for lunch.
We have had numerous different subs and salads here. They use the freshest ingredients and Boar’s Head meats. To be honest you really can not go wrong here. You may also want to talk to them about catering your next event as well.
