Stout Bar & Grill
Stout Bar & Grill: 3419 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309
The Restaurant:
Stout Bar and Grill is an Irish sports bar and grill in Oakland Park, FL. There are a few different sections to the place with a large main bar which includes two semi private nooks for your group to hang out in. There is also a main restaurant area where you can sit down at tables and booths to eat as well. The food here is a little more than just your typical bar food. They serve some really good Irish cuisine like bangers and mashed and shepards pie, along with great burgers, sandwiches, platters and desserts. Stout’s also serves over 100 different whiskeys and 60 different beers. The staff is very friendly and fun and you will most likely meet some new and interesting characters amongst the regulars or those stopping in for the first time.
Parking is the one thing that can be a problem, so some people park across the street in the shopping plaza and walk across Andrews Ave.
The Food:
Jerry and I decided to head out to Stout’s on a Sunday evening to check it out. He had been there many times before, but I had not been for several years. On Sunday they apparently play poker from 6pm until close, and that group was in the back nook with two tables set up. We sat at the long main bar which has large tvs on the wall to let you keep up to date on the latest sports scores and games.
Jerry went with his usual corn beef and cabbage. They give you a huge helping of corn beef, carrots, potatoes, and cabbage. He usually adds a little bit of malt vinegar to it. There was so much that he had to take half of it home.
I opted for the Philly Cheesesteak. Being that I come from that part of Pennsylvania, I am very fussy about the ones that I will eat. Stout did an amazing job with perfectly cooked sirloin, topped with melted provolone cheese, carmelized onions, on an Italian roll with citrus garlic aioli. Flavors seeped into each and every bite and really made me feel like home. The French Fries that accompany it were cooked just right and with the right amount of salt on them. I gave my compliments to the chef as we both really enjoyed our dishes.
Pricing: $$-$$$ for lunch, dinner and brunch depending on what you order and drinks

[…] The sandwich was good; however, it does not compare to other restaurants like Wicked Cheesesteaks, Stout, or Downtowner. Next time I will have to try the meatloaf instead. The french fries are thinner […]
