Vic’s Waffle House

Vic’s Waffle House: 283 Old Main St, Tewksbury, MA 01876

Mike wanted to show me one of his favorite local eateries on one of my visits. He said Vic’s Waffle House had been a staple in the community for years, so the South Florida Eats team ventured out to try this venue. The restaurant is located at one of the major intersections in town, making for easy access.

The Restaurant:

Vic’s Waffle House started in 2002 as a small diner in Tewksbury, serving delicious breakfasts and lunches. But the story goes back even further, to when it was partially owned by his father and his business partner, having started in 1992. Eventually, his father gave him an opportunity to manage and eventually own the restaurant.

Inside, you will find booths lining the walls and a counter area, giving you the perfect view of the kitchen. It’s an open kitchen which allows you to see everything. It’s nothing fancy, but the owner seems to know all of the regular locals. A couple of tables and chairs are in one half of the restaurant as well.

The Food at Vic’s Waffle House

Let’s start off by saying everything at Vic’s Waffle House appears to be made fresh every day, whether you are looking for waffles, omelets, eggs, or various breakfast meats. They even make the corned beef hash right there at the restaurant, not out of some can like so many breakfast places.

I decided to go with the meat lover’s omelet. Vic’s Waffle House serves this with bacon, sausage, ham, and American cheese. The eggs are nice and fluffy, and all the flavors meld together perfectly. The side was hash browns with a pile of onions, just the way I like them. I could have just eaten a plate of them as my meal. I chose the English muffin as my toast and asked for it to be cooked on the grill, which made it taste a little bit like pancakes.

Mike went with two eggs over medium, hash browns with no onions, kielbasa, and an English muffin, although it was not grilled. Mike said that everything was cooked perfectly. I can tell you the smile on his face told me that he was enjoying his meal and very happy.

Vic’s Waffle House also has a good selection of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and BLTs.

Pricing $-$$:  The prices at Vic’s are very reasonable. The food and service are both very good and we would highly recommend checking this place out.
