American Icon Brewery
American Icon Brewery: 911 NE 4th Avenue Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33304
I was pursuing one of the food delivery apps, trying to figure out what I wanted to eat. As I scrolled through the list, I came across American Icon Brewery. What caught my eye was that they served soft pretzels. I’ll talk about that in a minute.
The restaurant is located in the Flagler Village area of Fort Lauderdale, but they also have a much larger location in Vero Beach. You need to pay attention as you drive on 4th avenue, or you could miss the place. There is some parking in front of the place, but there is more just down the street at a public parking spot.
The Restaurant:
American Icon Brewery itself is an industrial-style feel to the restaurant. There is indoor and outdoor seating to suit your needs. You will find a few booths, but mostly tables. The tables are four tops, and some are partial booths and chairs. The bar has a ton of seating in both the indoor section and around the outdoor area.
The menu is a mix of typical bar fare. You will see a mix of burgers and sandwiches, pizza, and wings. For the more health-conscious, there is a good selection of salads as well.
The Appetizer:
I mentioned the American Icon Brewery’s soft pretzel earlier. This is a don’t miss appetizer. They call it the Icon Pretzel; handcrafted Bavarian Style Pretzel served with AIB Factory Pilsner beer cheese & Icon IPA stone ground mustard. I had been craving one for so long, and this did not disappoint.
The Main Dishes:
Some bars can do a good job with pizza, while others struggle to make it work. American Icon Brewery is one of the places that actually does a good job with their pizza. I opted for their Carnivore pie. It’s the meat & cheese lover’s dream. Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Canadian Bacon, Applewood Smoked Bacon & mozzarella cheese with AIB house-made pizza sauce. While it was not the prettiest and was not round, more of an elliptical in shape for being hand-made, it was a delicious pizza. I would not hesitate to get it again.
The second item I ordered was The Icon Burger with fries. Their special Certified Angus blend served on a fresh brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, smoked bacon, AIB sauce & a choice of cheese. Their blend of meet created a perfect burger, and it was tasteful in every bite. The bacon was cooked crisp the way I like it. The french fries were seasoned like I like and cooked perfectly as well. I could not have been happier with my choices.
Pricing $$: If you are looking for somewhere new to eat, check this place out. And for my friends that love IPAs and other beer, you will not be disappointed.
