About the Restaurant
Apollonia Grill opened it’s doors in 2013 bringing Award winning Mediterranean Cuisine to the neighborhoods around University Town Center. Family owned and operated, spending time in the kitchen, creating and improving recipes that continue to win the hearts of their Guests, in our Dining Room greeting and caring for the experience you receive. Their Family has many years in the Restaurant Business managing and owning several of them.
Apollonia is located in a large shopping center. Parking is plentiful and you can always do some shopping either before or after dinner. Tables and booths make up the seating in the restaurant as well as a nice bar area. An open kitchen sit at the back of the restaurant, but you can only really see what is going on in the last few booths. Decor is a modern style, with good lighting. My only concern was that it was not very busy on the night that I went with one of my friends. He said that the place is usually very busy, but we were able to walk in and get a booth right away.
Food
First up at Apollonia Grill for dinner was a bread basket and unsweetened ice tea. The rolls were not freshly made, just a standard food supply style roll heated up before it is brought to the table. For the main Dishes we had Apollonia’s Famous Chicken Kebabs and the Lobster & Shrimp Linguini. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the pleasant atmosphere.
Chicken Kebabs are seasoned and char grilled on a metal skewer. Your waitress will remove the skewer table side making life easy for you. It is served with roasted potatoes, seasoned greek yogurt and roasted vegetables. I do wish that there was a little more of chicken, potatoes, and vegetables. There are also two other options where you can have lamb and beef filet mignon instead of the chicken.
Lobster & Shrimp Linguini is just one of three pasta dishes. A grilled lobster tail (although mostly likely a Caribbean Lobster based on its small size)and sauteed gulf shrimp (two of them) sit on top of a bed of linguini pasta in a brandy cream sauce with melted leeks and tomatoes. Although the dish is very tasty, we were disappointed that there lobster and shrimp weren’t more plentiful.
Service
Our waitress was amazing. She was very attentive and helped explain the various dishes to us as it was my first time there. She made a few suggestions and made sure our drinks remained full.
Pricing: $$ – $$$ for lunch and dinner, depending on drinks you buy and appetizers
