Hime’s Breakfast House
Hime’s Breakfast House: 3826 S Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33611
Mike and I were trying to find a place for breakfast before we hit the road back to South Florida. We stumbled upon this little place off the normal beaten path. There is not a lot of parking at the restaurant itself, so you might have to park across the street in the Publix and Bealls shopping center. You can almost miss it, as Hime’s Breakfast House looks like any other house along the street. This is now a staple for us when we are in town.
The Restaurant:
Hime’s Breakfast House is made up of tables and chairs. As you walk in, you will be greeted by the hostess at the greeting stand. It’s not a huge restaurant, so if it’s a busy day, be prepared to wait. Even during the week, sometimes it will be busy. This is only a breakfast and lunch place, and they normally close around 2 pm.
The Menu:
The menu at Hime’s Breakfast House is pretty diverse, with a slew of breakfast items. From simple two-egg dishes to omelets, benedicts, and food from the griddle, and more. The lunch menu includes burgers, salads, and sandwiches.
Hime’s Breakfast House Food:
I ordered the Gayle’s Omelet, which contains ham, spinach, onions, tomato, mushrooms & cheddar jack cheese. I chose to go with the home fries, which are twice baked and then seasoned to perfection. The eggs were light and fluffy, which not every restaurant can do. I asked to have it well done because I am not a fan of how some places make their omelets runny. But after seeing Mike’s, I now know I don’t need to worry about that here.
Mike ordered the Florida Man, smoked sausage, onions, heirloom tomato, mushrooms, spinach & feta cheese. He also chose the home fries as his side item. He had a smile on his face as he gobbled down every bite. It certainly hit the spot.
