Nori Thai Ramen
Nori Thai Ramen: 217 E Palmetto Park Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33432
Right across the street from our office is a nice little Thai restaurant called Nori. We needed a change, so my colleague Maria and I decided to go over and eat there as she recommended it. Parking can be a little tough, but there is some on street parking and a small parking lot on the side of the building. There is a small outdoor seating area with approximately four tables. As you walk in, you will see on the left side there is a sushi bar where you can sit and eat your meal while watching them prepare all the sushi for everyone in the restaurant. Then in the middle and right side, they have several tables for two people, and then the rest are tables for four people.
We tried several different dishes. The first one was a salad with fresh greens, cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots. I highly recommend the ginger dressing. Next up were the dumplings. You can have them fried or steamed. We chose to have fried, and they are made with pork, shiitake mushrooms, and a sweet soy sauce for dipping. The iced tea gets served in a mason jar with a handle. That was kinda of a cool touch. Then Maria ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen which is a creamy slow cooked pork bone broth that is simmered for several hours. You will experience the amazing flavor combination of Chashu pork, bok choy, bean sprout, corn, kikurage mushrooms, seasoned boiled egg, scallion, sesame garlic oil. The next dish was the Crispy Pad Thai. This dish is a mixture of crispy noodle, breaded crispy chicken, egg, bean sprout, scallions, peanuts, salted palm sugar, and tamarind. This mixture has a nice crunch to it for those that are looking for something a little different, yet at the same time a great mix of flavors in your mouth. Last, but not least was the Teriyaki chicken. This dish is served with a side of white or brown rice and mixed vegetables of broccoli and snap peas.
We really enjoyed all of the dishes. The one bad thing about this place is that during lunch it can get very busy and sometimes the staff seems a bit overwhelmed. But the food is definitely worth going to this little place for.
